August Surf Lessons
Friday, August the 7th 2009 was a good day for a bunch of folks who took surf lessons from the highly competent and professional staff of the Navy MWR stationed at Barbers Point. HMSO was asked to lend a hand if able so the MWR folks could have a one-to-one ratio for those teaching to those taught. It was a perfect plan and now HMSO will try to support this valuable effort monthly passing on our love of the sport to our Servicemen and Women and their families. Two of the folks who were the recipient of the training, ran out and purchased a board immediately after the lesson (hopefully, shaped by either Mike Casey, Dick Brewer, or Dennis Pang) from Strong Current on the North Shore. They are stoked and welcome to the club! You now have a sport you do most anytime on any coast that clears the soul and mind of the daily pains of life.
